Hi! I’m a big fan of your work! They’re intimate but with no sense of hiding or shame, and that is something feels so rare to see! It helps that they’re babes lol

Do you have any specific inspirations or any fantasy recommendations? I’m getting more into the fantasy genre but I’m yet to find a fantasy book with a good gay story line. Yet you seem to be nailing it

80linesofvirgil:

Thank youuuuu! I’m nailing it because my life is a gay fantasy :P JK, I don’t really have any one specific inspiration but I do have lots of influences from movies, tv, video games, books, music, life etc.

Lifetime fantasy fan here, I gots what you neeeeed. Unfortunately, and although the times are definitely changin for the better, there is a big lack of explicitly queer storylines in a lot of fantasy. It’s one of my big motivations with the whole gay fantasia thing. I wanna create those fantasy stories I longed for as a teenager.

Like I said, things are getting better and I know there are authors out there doing exactly that especially in the YA fantasy corner. I’ve only read a few but erm yeah here are some of my gay fantasy recs:

Lynn Flewelling - Nightrunner series
Samantha Shannon - The Priory of the Orange Tree
Lev Grossman - Magicians series
Rainbow Rowell - Carry On series
F.T. Lukens - So This Is Ever After
Sarah Rees Brennan - In Other Lands
T.J. Klune - The House In The Cerulean Sea

Gay nerds throw your recs in the comments! x

The weirdest guy I ever met in a church was this boy who referred to “Buzz Aldrin and his husband” going to the moon. I was completely baffled, and when I asked if he’d misspoken, he got really angry and accused me of being deliberately ignorant of the facts. It turned out that he was somehow comvinced that Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were married. It took five Wikipedia articles to convince him otherwise.

The moon landing was fake: tired, passé, heard it before

The moon landing was an elaborate marriage proposal: fresh! sexy! I’m going to be thinking about this for months!

Romcom where two dudes in the 1960s fall in love and come up with an elaborate plan to become astronauts to get married in space because gay marriage is illegal everywhere but it can’t be illegal on the moon

Might make things a little awkward for Mike Collins.

He was the officiator

This is an excellent take. He officiated in orbit, and the landing was their Honey Moon.

Oh my god they were moon mates.

THEY WERE MOON MATES

it’s so bizarre when animated American films are set in a certain location and then only certain characters have the accents of that place. It makes no damn sense!! like

image

WHY IS SHE MORE FRENCH THAN THE REST OF THEM???

WHY ARE THESE GUYS MORE SCOTTISH THAN THE KIDS??

image

(also, aren’t they Vikings or something?)

To be fair, almost everyone in Ratatouille does have a French accent. The real question is why Linguini and also all the rats sound intensely American

If it was just the rats I’d say it’s because the movie can be interpreted to mean that the rats understand but don’t necessarily speak human languages so the rat dialog isn’t literally taking place the way we see it but that doesn’t explain why Linguini has a rat accent

LINGUINI HAS A RAT ACCENT

Do we ever hear like

For sure that Linguini grew up in France tho?

It could be possible he’s just an American immigrant

I mean his name is Alfredo Linguini so I always assumed he was Italian

I’m sorry his first name is Alfredo?

image

What

ALFREDO???

he’s American you guys his mother was American it was mentioned in the beginning

I’m sorry, I’ve moved on to the fact his mother was going through her cupboard for baby names

Alfredo was a name before it was a sauce let’s go over the movie from the top again

image

This is Alfredo di Lelio (right) the inventor of fettuccine Alfredo, he’d come out to the table and make it in front of you by hand

The chap on the left is an airport

I think you might have your left and right mixed up, my friend

Great post everyone. Hit the showers.
